Collaborating with another creator can be exciting—and nerve-wracking. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, being prepared is key. Here’s what I wish I’d known before my first collab.
✅ DO:
Have a Clear Conversation Upfront: Talk about boundaries, shoot ideas, what platforms the content will go on, and how revenue or exposure will be split.
Use Legal Paperwork: Use Collab Pro to manage your Model Release Forms (2257) and Content Distribution Agreement (which you can get in our legal document library). No form, no shoot—this protects both of you.
Discuss How to Share Content: Decide who will edit, post, and store the files. Use tools like Google Drive, Dropbox, or platforms like CollabPro for secure sharing.
Pack Like a Pro: Bring multiple outfits, your own hygiene kit, makeup, ID, and anything you may want for comfort (think: snacks and lube).
❌ DON’T:
Don’t assume anything—talk everything through before you start.
Don’t shoot without signed paperwork.
Don’t overpromise on sharing or posting timelines.
Don't just 'go with the flow' - if you don't like something, speak up!
Bonus Tip: If it’s your first time working with someone, keep it short and sweet. Try a quick TikTok or soft collab can build trust for something more intimate later.
